Confidence BE® #BEyourselfie: Jessica
Jessica, aged seven, was born with chronic constipation and had a colostomy formed at the age of just four with no known cause.
“I love my stoma”
Jessica is a brave little girl who loves dancing, drawing, singing, riding her bike and vlogging. She’s also likes to get involved in raising stoma awareness and feels very positive about her stoma, which she has named ‘apple’. She says she feels great and is confident in changing her own bag. Having a stoma hasn’t stopped her from doing all her favourite activities.
Since having her stoma surgery, Jessica has developed diversion colitis and Levator Ani syndrome and has had to have her stoma refashioned. Despite still being chronically constipated, Jessica is extremely positive and says having a stoma has given her a better quality of life. She is no longer in severe pain daily and is able to go on holiday without worrying about having to spend hours on the toilet.
No more sore skin
Jessica’s previous bag used to give her a rash and sore skin and was too big for her small frame. She likes the fact that the Confidence BE® bag has very soft fabric and the mini size fits her brilliantly. The bags also have a low-rustle cover and the fabric is water repellent for showering and swimming – one of her favourite things! Jessica’s Mum says Confidence BE® mini are amazing on her skin and the petite size is perfect for her.

Jessica wears Confidence BE® mini in white which she says is her favourite colour as it goes with all of her clothes and she loves to draw on it and decorate it.
All my friends like to see my bag and what I have drawn on it and the fabric is really soft. My confidence with Salts bags is amazing. They fit with any clothing I wear. Confidence BE® allows me to feel secure in everyday life and helps me have the confidence to change my own bag. At night, they are great, they filter out wonderfully and don’t balloon up for me at all. I can have fun and be a child and enjoy life.
