Paul's Story | #WorldCancerDay
Four years ago, Paul’s life changed when he was diagnosed with rectal cancer following a routine screening test. Unfortunately, the cancer was aggressive and persistent, and Paul required major surgery to remove his lower bowel. This was then followed by the creation of a Colostomy, proctectomy surgery, and months of chemotherapy.
Throughout it all, Paul has remained passionate about the things that matter most: his wife, children, and grandchildren. Beyond family, Paul is also a talented professional musician and the frontman of the successful 60s rock and roll band The Viewers. When he’s not on stage or raising awareness, Paul works alongside his wife at their design agency in Cornwall.
Using his platform as a musician, Paul encourages men to prioritise their health and well-being and speaks openly about his own experience to encourage other men to break the silence around health concerns and seek help when needed.
On the 16th December 2024, Paul shared with us the wonderful news that his test results came back in from Oncology and the Colorectal Team at RCHT Truro, Cornwall. They confirmed that he was clear from cancer for a third time in a row!
