We currently collect and process the following information via the Share your Story form so it can inspire others living with a stoma.
Please note – it is completely up to you as to how much of the below information you provide to us via the Share Your Story form.
- Name: For us to be able to identify you.
- Email address and Telephone: To contact you regarding your story.
- Your Age: To ensure you are over 18 years of age and to make your piece more relatable amongst our target audience when we share this on our platforms.
- Social Media Handles (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube): If you would like to be tagged in posts, and to re-share on social media platforms any content we post about you.
- In depth information about your stoma including: your stoma type, reason for stoma surgery and your experience, the stoma products you use and information about living with a stoma.
- Any images you voluntarily upload onto the form in regards to your stoma experience. Please note you must have obtained consent if any image you share contains other individuals.
How we get your personal information
All of the personal information we process via the Share your Story form is provided to us directly by you.

Your data will be shared with JC Social Media, who are our social media agency. JC Social Media will also get in touch with you if you have consented to have your story shared on our social media channels on behalf of Salts Healthcare.

- For your story to be shared on our Salts Healthcare social media channels.
If you have provided us with your social media handles, we will use these to share your story on our Social Media channels if you explicitly consent to this processing.
- For your story to be turned into a blog post on the Salts Healthcare website and shared across our social media platforms.
You will be contacted to review anything we post as a blog on the Salts Healthcare website and across our social media platforms if you explicitly consent to this processing.
- For your story to be turned into a blog post on the Salts Healthcare website and shared across our social media platforms.

- If you would like to receive the latest news and updates from Salts Healthcare.

- If you are happy for us to keep your information on our database in order to supply requested product samples and further information.

It is important to note if you consent to have your story shared on our social media channels, anyone who accesses our platforms may also potentially have access to your social media account even after withdrawing your consent if your profile is public.
How we store your personal information
We have put in place measures to protect the security of your information.
Our social media agency will only process your personal information on our instructions and where they have agreed to treat the information confidentially and to keep it secure.
We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal information from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. In addition, we only give access to your personal information to those employees and our Social Media company who require it.
We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected data security breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a suspected breach where we are legally required to do so.

We will hold your personal data for this processing for a maximum length of 2 months.
